WELCOME TO SUN KISSED PORTRAITS

Visit my website at http://www.sunkissedportraits.com

I am a military wife, married to my hero. I am a mother of three incredible children. I am a daughter to the hardest working man I know. I am a sister, a cousin, a friend and most importantly a servant of God! I consult Him on everything, and am amazed every time He chooses to reveal something new to me no matter how simple it may be.

I have always had an interest in photography, but it became an obsession after my son was born. I took him to the portrait studios, and was greatly dissatisfied with the generic poses we always got. Yes the pictures were cute, but they didn't even began to capture the personality that I adored and wanted to portray to my deployed husband. We counted on these portraits to help create a bond with my husband who for far too many months got to know our children through them. It was important to me that the photo starring back at him was more intimate than what I was receiving from these studios. So my mission began. Since then I have diligently perfected my photography, both artistically and technically.

Photos are how my daughter was introduced to her daddy. Photos let my husband be present at not only her birth, but also at many birthdays for our children since. Photos allowed Daddy to see the excitement in his son's face at his first airshow. Photos of the kids at Christmas allowed us to share Christmas; even while we were thousands of miles apart. Our very favorite photos, are those of us coming back together again. The ones of our family whole!

I like details. I love freckles, hence the name "Sun kissed." I love baby feet, and hand holding. I am a sucker for a thumb sucker. I love to watch a baby learn to toddle. I am crazy about tulips and look forward to them all year! I love the smell of the ocean and sound of the waves, but hate salt water. Newborns melt my heart, and I marvel at the way pregnant woman glow. I cry at the mention of our military, and I am VERY proud to be an American.

Why am I sharing all of this with you? So that you understand that when you choose me as your photographer I am not just taking pictures for you, I am capturing your memories. I want to see your son in his favorite shirt, no matter how worn it is. I want you to get your daughter to giggle so I can capture her crinkling her nose. You don't have to have a deployed spouse to appreciate precious memories. I'm not going to take your average posed pictures, I'm not going to try recreate another persons work. I am going to capture your family, in their element. I want your portraits to reflect your family, your moment and your memories!

WELCOME TO SUN KISSED PORTRAITS, I can't wait to get to know you!

Let the voting began...

It's not going to be easy to judge this contest, I'm glad you're doing it and not me. They are all so adorable! Please remember this is a "Cutest" contest, not a photography contest and judge the kids accordingly. The name of the child your voting on is UNDER their picture. You will be able to vote for 3 days, and the winner will be announced afterwards.
I would like to say "Thank You" to all who responded so quickly to this contest. I had to extend the number of participants and change the age groups around to accommodate everyone. I appreciate everyone being so flexible with the changes made.

I love when a session goes so well that I have a hard time picking my favorites! This is the second time I have worked with this family, and I hope it becomes a tradition! They were so much fun, and incredibly easy to photograph. The grandmother will be taking the photo's all they way back to Hong Kong, I sure hope they make her a little less homesick!

When you look at family pictures, you don't think about how you spent all day looking for something to wear only to find something that was just okay. You don't dewell on what a pain it was to talk your dad into coming. You don't remember that your hair wouldn't cooperate. You simply stand in awe of all of the blessings looking back at you. This family has been a blessing to me in more way than I can count. I am so thankful that we took the time make these memories. I hope they mean as much to you, as they do to me!
