Gonna get married! Well they did, and they did it right! The ceremony was beautiful, the reception was a blast, and they are official! I had a lot of fun working with them. They were up, for anything I suggested, and as a result we captured some really fun shots! Only some of my favorites made the blog cut, but it was difficult narrowing them down! Enjoy, and congrats to the bride and groom!

I am a military wife, married to my hero. I am a mother of three incredible children. I am a daughter to the hardest working man I know. I am a sister, a cousin, a friend and most importantly a servant of God! I consult Him on everything, and am amazed every time He chooses to reveal something new to me no matter how simple it may be.
I have always had an interest in photography, but it became an obsession after my son was born. I took him to the portrait studios, and was greatly dissatisfied with the generic poses we always got. Yes the pictures were cute, but they didn't even began to capture the personality that I adored and wanted to portray to my deployed husband. We counted on these portraits to help create a bond with my husband who for far too many months got to know our children through them. It was important to me that the photo starring back at him was more intimate than what I was receiving from these studios. So my mission began. Since then I have diligently perfected my photography, both artistically and technically.
Photos are how my daughter was introduced to her daddy. Photos let my husband be present at not only her birth, but also at many birthdays for our children since. Photos allowed Daddy to see the excitement in his son's face at his first airshow. Photos of the kids at Christmas allowed us to share Christmas; even while we were thousands of miles apart. Our very favorite photos, are those of us coming back together again. The ones of our family whole!
I like details. I love freckles, hence the name "Sun kissed." I love baby feet, and hand holding. I am a sucker for a thumb sucker. I love to watch a baby learn to toddle. I am crazy about tulips and look forward to them all year! I love the smell of the ocean and sound of the waves, but hate salt water. Newborns melt my heart, and I marvel at the way pregnant woman glow. I cry at the mention of our military, and I am VERY proud to be an American.
Why am I sharing all of this with you? So that you understand that when you choose me as your photographer I am not just taking pictures for you, I am capturing your memories. I want to see your son in his favorite shirt, no matter how worn it is. I want you to get your daughter to giggle so I can capture her crinkling her nose. You don't have to have a deployed spouse to appreciate precious memories. I'm not going to take your average posed pictures, I'm not going to try recreate another persons work. I am going to capture your family, in their element. I want your portraits to reflect your family, your moment and your memories!

Picture Perfect
The weather was picture perfect for today's homecoming. The kids could hardly contain their excitement. That was probably my favorite part, watching their faces light up as the plane flew over and then finally landed. I had a hard time narrowing down the pictures for this 'sneak peek' but the rest of the pictures are up on my website so you can check them out and see why. Please email me if you have any questions on how to get your pictures.( sunkissedportraits@gmail.com )
How do you do it?
I've gotten this question many times as a Navy wife. My answer is simple, "This is how!" Look through these homecoming pictures, and you can see the joy that radiates through these families that are finally complete again. It's been a long, trying six months. They have faced obstacles they didn't know they could overcome, but these precious moments and the ones to follow make it all worth it! Thank you for your service and sacrifice!
